Meet Coach B

Passionate. Experienced. Impactful.

A native of Atlanta, GA, Brian, better known as Coach B has built strong connections throughout the Carolinas and the DMV area. As a former Division I and Division II student-athlete, he brings extensive playing and coaching experience at both levels. As both a head coach and assistant coach, he has led both Division I and Division II teams to win conference championships and helped them achieve regional rankings in collegiate tennis, demonstrating his ability to develop winning programs.

With a background in physical education, including adaptive physical education, Coach B specializes in developing high-performance players, helping them refine their skills, strategy, and mental toughness to compete at the highest levels.  However, his passion for the sport extends to coaching players of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that every athlete he works with receives the tools and guidance to maximize their potential.

His coaching philosophy was shaped during his time as captain of the men’s tennis team at Winston-Salem State, where he learned the value of leadership, responsibility, time management, and mentorship.

For Coach B, coaching is more than just instruction; it’s about empowering players to think critically, embrace challenges, and grow both on and off the court. He is dedicated to helping athletes develop confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic, ensuring they excel not just in tennis but in life.

Learn. Adapt. Excel.

His teaching philosophy focuses on providing students with the tools to discover and construct their own knowledge while enjoying the sport. BMajor Tennis Academy values hands-on learning and creating an environment where players can experiment with strategies and techniques, ultimately becoming independent thinkers and better athletes.

What People Say About Coach B.

As my Assistant Coach for Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team at Winston Salem State University, as well as Assistant Tennis Professional at Colonial Country Club. Brian was my right hand at both locations. When I was unable to be there he was able to run programs so that they wouldn’t skip a beat. Players, administrators and members all complimented Brian’s work ethic and ability to perform at a high level. A testament to Brian’s hard work, and likeability, is now that he is back in Atlanta for the summer I have a family that keeps asking where he is, and why isn’t he at their clinic. I have had other people come in and teach clinics, but when they aren’t there the next time, no one is asking where they are. Brian does a wonderful job of playing, and teaching, at a high level, but at the same time communicating in a way that others understand, and making them feel good about themselves and their game. It is my plan to utilize Brian, even more, the 2011-12 year as Winston Salem State will once again compete for a CIAA Championship and birth into the NCAA Tournament, as well as growing the Tennis Program at Colonial Country Club.
